Your second recorded assignment is to prepare a 6-minute speech to persuade. Choose a topic you feel truly passionate about, like motivating people to donate clothes to a homeless shelter or volunteering at a local nursing home. If you choose a controversial topic, be sure to present both sides AND provide solid academic sources. In fact, a minimum of 4 academic sources is required for this assignment. There is also a visual aid required for this speech. This does NOT have to be a PowerPoint…feel free to get creative with the visual.

Instructions
You have been asked by the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer to create a PowerPoint presentation (using speaker notes for each slide or voiceover narration) on Magnet designation, quality measures and patient outcomes to be presented to the Board of Directors. This presentation should include:
- Background on Magnet Recognition Program®.
- Summary of the Magnet status model components and diverse data elements that can be used in the hospital’s Quality Improvement initiatives that will be measured for redesignation.
- Explain the use of hospital, state and national data comparison requirements in Magnet redesignation and quality improvement.
- Three goals that align to Magnet status with an explanation of how these goals can positively impact the hospital’s patient outcomes.

A Cultural Connection: Showcasing Quality Through Diversity
Scenario
Being a member of the quality team, you are working with a member of HR to create a quality improvement strategy and training for the hospital. This training will engage the healthcare staff in promoting diversity and inclusion in healthcare to improve patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
Instructions
Develop a PowerPoint presentation (using speaker notes for each slide or voiceover narration) that will be presented to the Director of Quality. Include the following information in the training:
- Devise one quality improvement goal and one objective addressing cultural competence in healthcare for the hospital
- Develop three initiatives to meet the objective within the next year.
- Select one initiative and create a staff training that can be implemented within the next 30 days. The training should include:

When writing a report for a criminal investigative analysis, a criminal investigative analyst should always provide a foundation for any conclusion reached. Language that implies certainty, unless there is an evidentiary foundation for such certainty (i.e., DNA results), should be avoided. When discussing issues of motive and intent, care should be given to not cross into the legal concept of intent and to not comment on the ultimate issue that may be before a jury (guilt/innocence). The report should be professional and devoid of biases.
